Our Mission
At Bluecoat Trent Academy, our Student Experience Programme is committed to creating an inclusive, inspiring, and enriching environment where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.
We aim to provide meaningful opportunities that develop character, confidence, leadership, wellbeing, and a sense of belonging. Through high-quality enrichment, student voice, personal development, and community engagement, we seek to ensure that every student leaves the academy equipped with the knowledge, skills, experiences, and aspirations needed to flourish in further education, employment, and life.
Enrichment
This is demonstrated in our extra-curricular programme, which is designed to enrich every aspect of student life, focusing on the mind, body and soul.
- Mind: Students can take part in a variety of study clubs and academic support sessions, where they can strengthen their knowledge, complete homework, and receive guidance in areas they may find challenging. These opportunities not only enhance learning but also build confidence and independence.
- Body: A wide range of sports clubs and physical activities are available throughout the week, giving students the chance to stay active, develop new skills and work as part of a team. From competitive team sports to fitness and recreational opportunities, these clubs help students to build resilience, maintain healthy lifestyles and develop lifelong habits.
- Soul: Creative, cultural and wellbeing clubs give students the opportunity to express themselves, explore new passions and develop a strong sense of identity. Opportunities in the arts, music, drama, and community-focused projects allow students to nurture their talents, connect with others and build confidence in a supportive environment.

“The school is committed to pupils’ personal development, as well as their academic success. It organises a wide range of opportunities so that pupils can explore existing interests and talents, discover new ones, and take on responsibilities. A large number of pupils participate in these activities, including disadvantaged pupils.”
