Total Marks: 102 marks
What’s assessed?
This assessment will be a full exam paper comprising of the following 4 topics: Muslim Beliefs, Christian Marriage and Family, Living the Christian Life and Living the Muslim Life.
Each topic will have an 3 marker (A question), 4 marker (B question), 5 marker (C question) & 12 marker (D question).
- Point, point, point (3 Marks)
- Point, explain + Point, explain (4 Marks)
- Point, explain + Point, explain + Source of authority (5 marks)
- For and against the statement essay with evaluation, source of authority and a conclusion. (12 + 3 SPAG)

- Importance and nature of sexual relationships
- Importance and purpose of the family
- Family planning
- Attitudes to divorce and remarriage

Christianity: Living the Christian Life
- Christian worship (liturgical and non-liturgical)
- The role of the sacraments
- Nature and purpose of prayer
- Religious celebrations (Advent, Christmas, Holy Week, Easter)
- The role and importance of the Church in the worldwide community (Christian Aid, charity etc)
Islam: Muslim Beliefs
- The six beliefs of Islam and how they are understood in Sunni and Shi’a communities
- The nature and importance of angels
- The nature and importance of prophethood
- The nature of Allah
- Muslim teachings about life after death, the nature of judgement, paradise and hell
Islam: Living the Muslim Life
- Jihad: the origins, meaning and significance of Jihad in Islam
- The nature, origins, activities, meaning and significance of the Id-ul-Adha, Id-ul-Fitr and Id-ul-Ghadeer
- Zakah as one of the Five Pillars & Khums
- Sawm as one of the five Pillars: the nature, role and significance of fasting during Ramadan.
- Shahadah as one of the Five Pillars
What Should I Do To Revise And Prepare For This Assessment?
To prepare for this assessment:
- Complete all exam question practice in the RS revision booklets handed to you.
- Use the shared drive on school website and revision hub to access all PowerPoints and lesson materials.
- Complete Seneca.
- Create revision resources to aid retention of memory, eg: Mindmaps, revision cards, flashcards.
