At Archway Learning Trust, the governors and staff fully recognise the contribution that the academies within the Trust make to safeguarding children. The safety and protection of all students is of paramount importance and all staff, including volunteers, have a full and active part to play in providing early help protecting students from harm. We believe that, as an academy we should provide a caring, positive, safe and stimulating environment, which promotes the social, physical, emotional and moral development of all students. In delivering this ambition we adhere to the principles set out in Nottingham City’s Family Support Strategy, NCSCB Policy, Procedures and Practice Guidance, and the government guidance, Working Together to Safeguard Children and Keeping Children Safe in Education and their updates and amendments.
All staff within the academy receive robust and regular training in order to discharge their safeguarding duties to the highest of standards, building a culture of vigilance and ensuring that every Bluecoat Trent Academy student feels safe, secure and listened to.
We place great value on educating students to keep themselves safe through a comprehensive programme including assemblies delivered by specialist staff and visitors, a tailored RHSE curriculum, and a team of staff dedicated to providing pastoral care, guidance and support.
Our relationship with the local authority and other partner agencies enables us to further provide a safe and supportive environment for our students to flourish and achieve.
