In the Town
Overview
This topic follows on from House and Home and will allow students to describe their town and what you can do there. We will explore other cities such as Paris and Madrid.

Fairytales
Overview
In this exciting new topic, students will discover fairytales from across the globe as well as being able to interpret well known stories in target language. Learners will have the opportunity to create their own fairytale story which they can then perform in French/Spanish

This topic allows students to consolidate their learning with new material. Students will be able to learn about hispanic/ francophone fairytales, and read and listen to longer extended texts with authentic materials.

Overview

Overview
Students will explore the different types of media and express what they prefer to watch, read and listen to and why. Students will be able to explore Hispanic/Francophone festivals and celebrations such as El Día de los Muertos and La Fête Nationale. In addition, students will learn about flamenco and French fashion.

Overview
In this topic, students will learn about traditional dishes of France and Spain and beyond. They will learn how to order in restaurants and buy food when shopping. They will also learn about tapas culture and what makes a "proper" Parisian baguette.

Overview
In this exciting new module, during their MFL lessons students will have a variety of other timetabled lessons taught in French or Spanish. Overview
As students have an understanding of school vocabulary from Year 7, they will now be given the opportunity to embed and develop their learning further. Students will be able to compare UK schools with those in France/Spain, argue whether school uniform is a good idea and discuss what school rules are effective and important. This module prepares students for the GCSE Education unit.

Overview
Now students have learnt about sport and food, they can combine their learning to talk about healthy lifestyles and balanced diets. For the final topic of students' Key Stage 3 MFL journey, they will explore more about the regions and overseas territories of France and Spain. Students will be able to describe tourism trends, climates, geographical features, tourist activities and use that information create a holiday brochure in target language.
